DOHA: Ooredoo yesterday announced the Hala Egypt Key, which offers customers the lowest calling rate of 30 dirhams per minute for calls to Egypt, is now permanent.
The hey, which was originally available for three months from December 3, 2014 to March 3, 2015), was made permanent from March 4 as part of the company’s portfolio of international calling services after an unprecedented take-up of the offer.
The key was originally developed after strong demand from the Egyptian community in Qatar and businesses looking to connect to partners in the country.
Since its launch, subscribers in Qatar have enjoyed the lowest calling rates to Egypt and were able to call local Ooredoo numbers at 10 dirhams per minute.
This is the latest of Hala products to help the expatriate community talk more for less as they stay connected with friends and family in the region on Ooredoo’s bigger and faster network.
Previously, customers wishing to call Egypt could subscribe to Hala International Saver Key and make calls for QR0.45 per minute, one of the best rates in Qatar.
With the latest key, customers can save 15 dirhams per minute with the new 30 dirhams per minute rate.
Customers wishing to subscribe to service can activate Hala Egypt Key for QR2 per week by sending SMS ‘EGY’ (English) and (Arabic) to 121.
