TEHRAN: The Iranian Air Defense Force displayed a new Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) on the occasion of the National Army Day.
According to Iranian news agency (Fars News), the new drone is a long-range radar evading air defense aerial vehicle with the capability to carry arms and camera.
Iran's Air Defense Force also displayed its latest equipment and capabilities during the military parades.
In a related development, Iranian Deputy Defence Minister and Head of Irans Aerospace Organisation General Mehdi Farahi announced on Wednesday that a new cruiser launched by the navy will be unveiled in near future, reported Iran's Al-Alam News Network.
Farahi said that various types in cruisers including surface-to-surface and sea ones are vital to defend any potential threat and increase the war might.
"Some changes have been carried out over previous cruiser types to improve their capabilities and ranges and the new vessel is the result of these efforts," he said.
Iran has produced several types of cruises including Zafar, Nasr, Noor and Ghader. Some of them can be fired over targets at 30 knots. A knot is a unit of speed equal to 1.852 km per hour. (QNA)
