Over 6m to cast vote in Rawalpindi, Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: In the general election in May, 6.077 million voters of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, including 3.23 million men and 2.77 million women, would cast their votes. According to sources, 625,964 voters — 337,900 male voters and 288,964 female are registered in Islamabad whereas the total figure of voters in Rawalpindi is 2.645 million including 1.22 million males and 1.425 million females.

In district Attock total number of voters is 1.02 million including 555,115 male and 467,065 female voters.

In district Jhelum the total number of voters is 783,571 including 421,585 are male and 361,986 are female whereas in district Chakwal the total number of voters is 929,747 voters including 439,546 registered male voters and 490,201 female voters.

The data available with the scribe reveals that around 625,964 voters of federal capital would cast their votes for the two constituencies of NA-48 and NA-49 whereas 2.645 million voters of Rawalpindi city would cast their votes for 7 National Assembly and 14 provincial assembly seats.                                                      Internews
