One killed, two hurt in UAE boat explosion

DUBAI: An Asian fisherman was killed and two others seriously burnt when the fishing boat they were sailing in exploded. 
 
The Central Operations Room of Ras Al Khaimah Police received information about the incident at the coasts of Al Jeer area on Thursday morning 10 am, according Brigadier Ghanim Ahmed Ghanim, Director-General, Central Operations Room, RAK Police.
 
Ambulance, rescuers and police rushed to the site, reported a local daily.
 
The explosion was due to some gases that accumulated in the boat, said Brigadier Ghanim.
 
All the fishermen onboard the boat were thrown into the sea in the impact of the blast and one of them was killed. Two other Asians received several serious injuries and burns, he added. 
 
The injured were transferred to hospital. 
 
Brigadier Ghanim called on public  to take necessary precautions, follow security standards fishing and maintain the boats in good condition.
