DOHA: The traffic department has plans to link radar cameras directly to its control room so that violations can be recorded and sighted immediately as they occur and violators can be informed through the interior ministry’s Metrash mobile phone service later.
Presently, laptops are used traffic department officials to download photographs of violations from radars and it takes three to four and sometimes five days for violations to be known by the traffic department and intimated to violators, Al Sharq reported yesterday.
