Al Rayyan will be looking for revenge when they take on Al Sadd in the Qatar Cup semi-final at Al Sadd Stadium on Thursday, says defender Moussa Haroon.

“The Qatar Cup is highly sought after and all four sides have a chance of winning. The knock-out format means you have no room for error, and I expect the match against Al Sadd to be an exciting affair. We have lost twice in the league to Al Sadd and we will be hoping to make up for this in the Qatar Cup," said Haroon ahead of Lions' crunch match.

Last year's Qatar Stars League winners lost both the matches, going down by 5-0 in the first and in the return match again succumbed by  4-1 scoreline.

“Al Rayyan has never lifted the Qatar Cup before, and it’s certainly a big motivation for our side heading into the game against Al Sadd” added the 30 year old defender.

Moussa also stressed that his Al Rayyan side have a good chance to overcoming the odds against Al Sadd.

“We have every chance to beat Al Sadd we can do it. Despite losing to Al Sadd in the league we can defeat them; anything can happen in cup football.”

“All four sides have a chance to lift the Qatar Cup this season. Form in the league does not count in the Qatar Cup and any side can beat anyone on the day. This is part of the reason why the Qatar Cup is such an exciting tournament as a player” added Moussa when asked about the other top four sides in the competition.

“You all have a vital role with us in Al Sadd game. We are hoping that you can join us at the stadium and cheer us on to the final of the Qatar Cup," he added.
