BAGHDAD: Iraq’s parliament Monday welcomed a win by the Yes vote in Sunday's historic referendum on Turkey's transition to a presidential system.
"We hope the referendum result will contribute to stabilizing and strengthening [Turkey’s] relations with neighboring countries," MP Abbas al-Bayati said at a press conference.
On Sunday, a majority of Turkish voters cast ballots in favor of 18 constitutional amendments that will, among other things, see Turkey switch from a parliamentary to a presidential system of governance.
