Doha: Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has concluded a tripartite partnership agreement with the Red Cross of Chad and the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) of Chad, with the aim of strengthening mutual humanitarian cooperation to meet the needs of the most vulnerable population of Chad.

The agreement was signed by President of QRCS Youssef bin Ali Al Khater, President of the Red Cross of Chad Khala Ahmat Senoussi, and Advisor to Chadian MoPH Dr. Youssif Mohamed El-Nour Shata.

In accordance with the agreement, QRCS will open a representation office in Chad to upgrade relations with the Red Cross of Chad, under the umbrella of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, supervise the execution of humanitarian projects/programs on the ground, engage the personnel of the Red Cross of Chad in providing assistance to meet the key needs of the people of Chad, and exchange experience and skills between the two sister National Societies within QRCS’s vision and strategic plan. After the signing ceremony, Al Kater commended the agreement as setting a legal framework for QRCS’s work in Chad, to offer different forms of assistance to the public, as well as to build the humanitarian and relief capacity of the Red Cross of Chad.

“This cooperation is driven by QRCS’s commitment to its humanitarian mission of supporting those in need everywhere, inspired by the deep and long-standing friendly relations between Qatar and Republic of Chad,” he explained,” said Al Kater. He indicated that QRCS and the Red Cross of Chad share the same working areas and goals of helping victims of humanitarian crises and improving their situation.

Shata expressed his happiness at cooperating with QRCS, affirming that it would play an important role in providing support for the poor people in the region.

He also noted that the agreement will help to promote mutual cooperation and expand the scope of QRCS’s humanitarian contributions, extending his thanks to QRCS for providing the opportunity to conclude it, under the existing cooperation between Qatar and Chad.
