Doha: The Ministry of Municipality celebrated yesterday annual GIS Technology Day with the participation of a contingent of professionals in GIS from various state ministries, institutions, authorities, universities, and other relevant entities.
On this occasion, Assistant Director of the Geographic Information Systems (CGIS) at the Ministry of Municipality Amer Al Humaidi said this year celebration highlights the GIS’s success story in the State of Qatar in addition to following-up on its evolution over many years, as well as introducing the GIS applications and the positive impact of the evolution of geospatial technologies worldwide.
Al Humaidi added, pointing out that experts concur in the fact that combining AI and geospatial technologies can handle enormous quantities of data and conduct spatial analysis on them.
