Cartoon characters entertaining the audience during the Disney on Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic.
DOHA: Having stunned over 40,000 fans at eight sold out shows, officials from Sport & Entertainment Solutions (SES) yesterday revealed plans to return to Qatar with more Disney Live! productions.
Disney On Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic concluded its four-day tour in Doha on Sunday, leaving tens of thousands of adoring fans eagerly anticipating what might be next for the Disney On Ice series.
Sport & Entertainment Solutions Founder and CEO, Ali Haidary said, “Although 100 Years of Magic is coming to an end, I can assure the Qatari community that this is only the beginning of Disney’s performances in the Middle East. The show’s success tells us what Qatari citizens and residents would like to see in live family entertainment. And we promise to deliver it.”
The skating spectacular gave children and adults the opportunity to experience their favourite Disney characters with special appearances from Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Nemo and their friends from Disney’s The Little Mermaid, The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast.
Fans were impressed by the stunning production, including the costumes, choreography and skill of the world-class skaters.
Faten Fathy, a long-term Doha resident, said: “This has revived the entertainment scene and provided a great alternative for the everyday activities we have here in Doha. The performance was astonishing and the music, props, sound and lighting were innovative and well organised.”
Luca Modonutti, visiting Doha from the UAE, echoed this sentiment: “Seeing my favourite Disney characters perform brought back amazing childhood memories. The show was incredible and so cleverly coordinated with each Disney story keeping you absorbed. I am looking forward to the next Disney event here in Doha.”
