Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Municipality has issued a list of 15 beaches that have been developed to receive visitors. Several beaches have been renovated and new services added for the comfort of the visitors.
The project is part of massive efforts of the Ministry to provide recreational facilities - beaches and public parks - with full services.
The developed beaches include Fuwairt Beach, Al Maroona Beach, Arida Beach, Al Ferkiah Beach, Simaisma Beach, Al Wakra Beach, Sealine Beach, Al Adaid Beach, Al Mamlaha Beach (for women), Al Ghariya Beach, Zikrit Beach, Dukhan Beach, Umm Bab Beach, Al Kharaij Beach (for singles) and Salwa Beach.
A list of the beaches with links to their locations was shared by the Ministry on its Twitter handle. Under the renovation project, the beaches are provided with walkways, shades of different designs, permanent toilets, kiosks, barbeque areas, play areas for children, and volleyball and football grounds.
Dedicated walkways for people with special needs have also been built on some beaches to give them access to the sea. The lighting system of almost all beaches is powered by solar energy.
The Ministry of Municipality also issued instructions for the safe keep of the beaches.
The visitors are asked to avoid lighting fire directly on the sand. Making fire directly on beaches harms the nature of sand which in turn impacts the environment.
The Ministry also instructed visitors to not bury charcoal ash in the sand and to maintain hygiene by throwing waste in the designated garbage containers. Visitors are also urged to wear lifeguard jackets while swimming in the sea for their safety.
To recall, the Ministry of Municipality had marked 18 beaches for renovation to provide necessary services for visitors. In phase one, eight of them reopened on November 1 ahead of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Al Maroona is one of Qatar’s most popular beaches, perfect for enjoying a day by the sea. It’s fine sand and shallow waters make it a must-visit destination.
Simaisma Beach features soft sand and shallow waters, which offer a safe environment for families with kids to enjoy leisure time by the water. Peaceful and clean, it is ideal for long walks and relaxing under the sun.
