Mexico City: Colombia beat World Cup debutants Uzbekistan 3-1 on Wednesday thanks to an inspired performance from Luis Diaz at the Estadio Azteca in the Group K game.
The Colombians went ahead when Daniel Munoz volleyed in Diaz's superb pass after 40 minutes but Abbosbek Fayzullaev equalized before Diaz settled the contest in the 65th minute and Jaminton Campaz scored a third in the dying seconds.
