Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe inspects a Japan Coast Guard patrol vessel off Japan’s southwestern island of Ishigaki, Okinawa prefecture, yesterday. The coastguards patrol waters around Senkaku islands, controlled by Japan but claimed by China  at the centre of a dispute with China as the Diaoyus. Abe’s visit to Ishigaki was the first by a sitting premier in 48 years.
