Washington: The BJP plans to reach out to American political and business leaders and Indian audiences with party president Rajnath Singh slated to visit the US from Saturday.
During his July 20-25 trip, Rajnath Singh would explain his party’s view on Afghanistan after the planned withdrawal of US forces in 2014, meet lawmakers from Democratic and Republican parties as also business leaders in Washington.
The Bharatiya Janata Party leader would also address a public meeting in New Jersey. He will deliver a key-note address at a conference on “India, Afghanistan and Regional Security”, organised by the Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies (FIDS-USA) and the US India Political Action Committee on July 23, according to Overseas Friends of BJP, the party’s overseas unit.
This programme at Capitol Hill, the seat of the US Congress, will also feature Ajit Doval, a former director of the Indian Intelligence Bureau. IANS
