DOHA: Qatar Exchange continued its good run yesterday lifting the index by 0.84 percent to close at 13,284.65 points.
The trading value reached QR946.167m with a volume of 22 million shares from 9,737 transactions yesterday. Of the 43 listed companies, 26 made gains, 14 went down and two remained unchanged.
Qatar individual investors bought a volume of 12 million shares of 41 companies worth QR473m, or 50.09 percent, and sold a volume of 12 million shares of 41 companies worth QR524m, or 55.47 percent. They bought 3 million shares of 37 companies worth QR174m.
Gulf International closed at QR111.80, up 3.04 percent. Doha Insurance also made fair gains, up 9.01 percent to close at QR27.60 from the previous QR25.60. Qatar General Insurance slid by 4.17 percent to close the day at QR46.
QE index gained 365.02 points or 2.83 percent in the past week when trading closed at 13,284.65 points yesterday.
A majority of banks, real estate companies, and Qatar Gas Transport Company (Nakilat) in the transport segment enjoyed a good run in the week which saw the index breaching the 13,000 mark again following the record set on May 29.
The trading value QR3bn, an increase by 35.94 percent compared to QR2.6bn in the previous week.
The trading volume reached 83 million shares, an increase by 20.84 percent.
The market capitalisation of rose by 1.84 percent to QR714bn from QR701bn at the end of previous week.
Banks and financial services led the traded value during the week, accounting for 35.53 percent of the total traded value.
Real estate sector accounted for 20.25 percent and industrials accounted for 14.47 percent of the total traded value.
Real estate led the traded volume accounting for 28.04 percent of the total traded volume. Banks and financial services accounted for 24.22 percent and telecoms 13.46 percent.
Banks and financial services topped the number of transactions this week with 34.49 percent of the total transactions followed by real estate, 18.91.
Of the 43 listed companies, 35 ended higher during the week, six fell and two remained unchanged.
