Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has approved the Cabinet’s decision No. 33 of 2013 amending provisions of decision No. 16 of 2011 regarding the setting up of National Committee for Occupational Safety and Health.
The decision amends articles 1 and 6 of decision No. 16 of 211.
The amended article No. 1 stipulates setting up a National Committee for Occupational Safety and Health at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, led by the undersecretary of the ministry as chairman.
The panel will include another senior official as vice chairman and members of the committee will represent the Civil Defence directorate of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning, Ministry of Environment, General Secretariat of the State Cabinet, Supreme Council of Health, Qatar Petroleum, Ashghal and the Supreme Committee for Qatar 2022.
One or more representatives of businessmen to be selected by Qatar Chamber and one or more representatives of labourers to be selected by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs will also be members of the panel.
The amended article No. 6 states that the committee should submit monthly a report of its work to the minister with its proposals and recommendations.
The decisions are effective from the date of issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette. The Peninsula
