24 militants killed during Afghan army operations

KABUL: At least 24 Taliban militants were killed following military operations by Afghan national army (ANA) forces in the past 24 hours.

Afghan Defense ministry spokesman Gen. Zahir Azimi said the operations were conducted in three different provinces.

Gen. Azimi confirmed that 24 militants were killed and 13 others were injured during the operations.

He said Afghan army soldiers also confiscated various types of weapons, ammunition and explosives including 26 rounds of improvised explosive device (IED) during the operations.

The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the report so far. (QNA)
