Are youth finding it hard to get jobs?

Published: 18 Oct 2012 - 02:52 am | Last Updated: 07 Feb 2022 - 01:14 am

It is difficult for a young man to dream about the position he finds himself in and his soul. He also finds reality to wake him up from this dream, to tell him: “wake up, oh… and dream as much as you can”.

This is the fact of this young citizen and unfortunately many others, so he may get any job without instrumentality but it is not the one that he wishes, the one he wishes prevented between him and the current circumstances. This young man says and despair may owned him: I was dreaming that I work in the diplomatic corps, because I find myself in it, and I have what can qualify me for that, and in addition to my scientific qualifications and my practical experience I was and since secondary grade in high school interested in follow-up and read all what is going on around us from political events, and I was following up diplomatic Qatar and its handling all regional and international events, and sometimes I have my  private readings related to these events, and I may expect something as a result of what I am seeing from the geopolitical conditions and what I expect that it might have happened. I was and I am still gluttonious reader for all what experts and political analysts write as Henry Kissinger and Hassanein Heikal, and may curiosity pushed me to read between the lines. And this young man continues his talking saying: My passion has reached and my love for the work in the diplomatic corps that I knew many of the names of members of our diplomatic missions around the world, but I met some of them when I am roaming in some countries and found some of them do not have the skills that qualify him to be in this position, and not cognitive standpoint, nor even in terms of courtesy diplomacy and tact tongue Actually he says: “Oh no objection .. But I’m not the lowest of them!” This young man has reached the stage of desperation because he submitted his documents to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs tens of times.

He gave his papers to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs dozens of times and over the last 5 years, either through their submission to the headquarters of the ministry or through professional exhibition, which is held every year, he says: “I was optimistic during these years that it has been ascertained imperative be passed through instrumentality and not like the instrumentalities that we know!! He is not from that type who enjoys this characteristic, neither his father was a minister nor his grandfather was a president! He says: Until I reached the stage when I became convinced through it that there is no point in continuing in this matter and that I have to settle for the status quo, and I know that this job has its people, and I am not one of its people!! His speech came to an end.

May be there are many people who are like this young man and they have intense desire to work in this authority, but also they are have not been able to the same circumstances which this young man suffered, and may be this percentage is low, and it is just about not to be mentioned and the doors of the ministry are opened to everyone and it doesn’t differentiate between any of its citizens, and this all what we wish. But, the only remaining question that arises itself is: Why the number of the appointees in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not the same number of the other ministries? Are not many departments in the Ministry and some are established newly, and it suffers from a lack of vacancies?...Qatar has opened many of its diplomatic channels with many different countries all over the world, Is it reasonable that they don’t need for national cadres to engage these embassies? Or they will become with that as per their habit, to depend on the foreign race so that its visitor will think that the citizens of Qatar are wholly engaged in working in only oil and gas sectors!

We appeal to His Excellency Dr. Khalid Bin Mohamed Al Attiyah, the Minister of State for International Cooperation, who we realise is one of the supporters of Qatari youth and his ambitious policy in attracting the largest possible number of ambitious Qatari youth, to work in his Ministry and distilling our embassies abroad with the image that gives a bright and honourable impression for the youth of Qatar, we adjure him to consider for many of the employment applications that may be trapped in office drawers of the managers of the departments of his ministry! Perhaps, he can help achieve the wishes of this young man and others who dream to join the Ministry of International Cooperation.
