Guwahati: The opposition Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) yesterday condemned the ruling Congress in Assam over the ongoing violence in Kokrajhar district in the Bodoland Territorial Areas Districts (BTAD), where earlier in the year over 100 people were killed in Bodo-Muslim clashes.
AGP working president Atul Bora said Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has lost control over the government and also came down heavily on the ruling party for an alleged fake encounter in Majuli Island.
“The arrest of an executive member of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Mono Kumar Brahma, who belongs to Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) — a party partner with the Congress government in Dispur, for possessing illegal arms and ammunition is a clear indication that Congress is involved in the conspiracy behind the violence in the Kokrajhar,” Bora said.
