DOHA: The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) is hosting a two-day Solar Qatar Summit (SQS) which begins at Grand Hyatt hotel today. Ahmed Al Nasr, Kahramaa’s Technical Affairs Director, will open the conference to be attended by number of solar industry stakeholders across the world.
The event will feature a specific presentation from Kahramaa by Saleh Al- Marri, Head of Renewable Energies Technologies on creative methods to take benefits from renewable energy and related projects in Qatar.
Kahramaa announced its first renewable energy project last year as a major step towards the gradual adoption of more sustainable techniques to produce 200 MWs by 2020 using solar power, which will be equivalent to two percent of the then total power generation in Qatar.
