Over 80 exhibitors at Second Omani Products Exhibition

DOHA: Over 80 Omani companies are showcasing their products and services at the second Omani Products Exhibition (OPEX) which opened yesterday at the Doha Exhibition Centre.

The exhibitors include leading companies in the areas of food and beverage products, leather, treatment systems, tanks, fertilisers, furniture, aluminium and other metals, building and construction materials, textiles and fabrics, perfumes and cosmetics, mineral and plastic equipment, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, logistics and utilities.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, H E Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud opened the expo. It was attended by H E Dr Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce & Industry along with other senior government officials and private sector representatives from the Sultanate and Qatar.

Held until Wednesday, this key event was organised by the Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development (PAIPED), the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. 

Ayman Abdullah Al Hasani, Chairperson of OPEX Organising Committee said: “We are proud to see the culmination of all our efforts come to fruition after months of meticulous planning and coordination. In line with the Omani government’s vision to build an extensive non-oil portfolio, this exhibition will further expand the presence and reach of Omani products in the Gulf markets by creating areas of opportunity within the industrial and commercial sectors.”

Nasima Al Balushi, PAIPED’s Director General for Export Development said, “Many of Oman’s products are imported by some of the world’s leading economies including Qatar. OPEX is a unified platform that will bring Omani companies together with Qatari business in one setting to showcase the quality, proximity, variety and competitiveness of Omani products and how these products will meet the growing demands of Qatar’s development.”
