DOHA: The 11th edition of International Construction Technology and Building Materials Exhibition (Project Qatar 2014) will be held from May 12 to 15 at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).
The move to organise the event at the QNCC for the first time was aimed at taking the event to new heights in terms of participation and organisation, organiser IFP Qatar (International Fairs & Promotions) has announced.
Project Qatar, which recorded remarkable growth rates by all standards since its inception at the Doha Exhibition Centre in 2003, exceeding the exhibition area space and covering all its surrounding areas, has become the fastest growing construction show in the region, and the second largest in size, according to the Vice-President of International Marketing and Sales at IFP Group, Fadi Kaddoura.
“Since its first edition, the show recorded a 50 percent growth in exhibition space from one year to the next; a 73 percent increase in the number of exhibitors; a 45 percent rise in participating countries; and a 20 percent growth in the number of visitors,” said Kaddoura.
“In its first edition, the show witnessed the participation of 267 exhibitors across 10,000 square meters of exhibition space; and in its 10th edition, the event proudly welcomed over 2,100 exhibitors from 50 countries, covering 67,000 square meters of exhibition area,” he said.
Kaddoura stressed that the international participation accounted for more than 60 percent of the total number of participants, with the presence of over 23 national pavilions, including Austria, Belgium, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, India, Iran, Italy, Korea, Kuwait, Malaysia, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, the UAE and the United Kingdom.
Based on this promising track, IFP Qatar believed it would be best to move the exhibition to the new location, making participation possible for new companies who wish to take part in the massive annual participation.
