EC puts curbs on students’ sick leave

DOHA: The Supreme Education Council (SEC) has asked Independent schools not to accept sick leave certificates issued by private clinics and hospitals to students, teachers and non-teaching staff.
The move follows complaints about an increase in fake sick leave certificates that have a negative impact on the performance of many schools. Only those certificates issued by the Hamad Medical Corporation, public  hospitals and primary health care centres are acceptable, Al Sharq reported quoting a circular issued by the Education Authority at SEC.
