Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday held telephone conversation with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia.
They reviewed relations and regional and international issues.
The Emir also received a telephone call from the Emir of Kuwait H H Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah and they reviewed relations and issues of joint interest.
The Emir held telephone talks with Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for Council of Ministers Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said on means of enhancing relations and joint interest.
DOHA: Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has extended the deadline for receiving entries for Rashid’s Family Drawing Competition from school students, due to exams.
The new deadline is November 23. PHCC invites all school students aged between eight and 18 to take part in the competition.
It encourages students to be creative and to showcase thoughts and ideas on the habits that will maintain and enhance the physical and mental health of the family.
Students can participate by submitting an A4 drawing featuring Rashid’s Family characters while carrying healthy activities. They are required to write down their full name, age, grade, school name, parents/guardian contact phone numbers on the back of the drawing.
Entries should be submitted in a hardcopy format in person to the Corporate Communications and PR Department, PHCC, Barwa Building 2, Floor 7, Suhaim Bin Hamad Street, C-Ring Road.
DOHA: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested two Arab nationals on charges of stealing QR251,000 from a car which belonged to a Qatari after smashing its window glasses in a public parking lot in Al Rayyan.
The suspects confessed that they followed the victim after he had withdrawn cash from a bank. They stole the cash when the victim parked his car to complete his transactions, leaving the amount inside the car.
A CID team raided the suspects’ homes and found the amount and some other currencies. They were referred to the public prosecution.
The CID has urged citizens and residents not to leave cash or any valuables in their cars to avoid thefts and to be more vigilant while withdrawing large amounts from banks and not leave it visible in the car while parking.
