Doha: Qatar Exchange index ended higher yesterday, up 17.96 points or 0.13 percent to close at 13,762.76 points. Trading value jumped substantially to QR1.11bn from QR627.94m registered on Sunday.
The trading volume soared to 17,164,758 shares from 8,489 transactions compared to 10,085,297 shares from 6,204 transactions on Sunday. The market capitalisation increased to QR745.6bn from QR743.92bn on Sunday.
Of the 43 companies listed, shares of 42 were traded. Of these 23 went down, 17 advanced and two remained unchanged. The shares of Al Meera Consumer Goods Company jumped 5.86 percent to QR233.10, a QR12.90 gain. Al Khaled Takaful shares too made gains, up 5.84 percent to QR54.40, a gain by QR3. Barwa shares was the only gainer among real estate firms, up 3.65 percent to QR54.
