Qatar Stock Exchange (QE) index gained 33.27 points or 0.34 percent to close at 9,774.98 points yesterday compared to the previous closing of 9,741.71 on Wednesday. On the weekly basis the index lost 185.97 points or 1.87 percent.

Trading value last week decreased by 30.24 percent to reach QR1.2bn compared to QR1.8bn on a week ended on November 10. Trading volume decreased by 11.32 percent to reach 41.5 million shares, against 46.78 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 0.41 percent, to reach 18,651 transactions as compared to 18,574 transactions.
Market capitalisation fell by 1.40 percent to reach QR528bn as compared to QR535.8bn at the end of previous week.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 30.36 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 16 percent. Telecoms sector accounted for 15.03 percent and Insurance sector accounted for 13.60 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume last week with 32.63 percent of the total traded volume. Telecoms sector accounted for 27.49 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 18.71 percent and Insurance sector accounted 7.66 percent. Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions last week accounted for 30.95 percent of the total number of transactions. Telecoms sector accounted for 20.93 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 16.67 percent and Industries sector accounted for 13.52 percent.
Of the 44 companies listed, six ended last week higher, while 34 fell and four unchanged. QNB led trading value during last week and accounted for 10.44 percent of the total trading value. Vodafone Qatar accounted for 8.28 percent and Qatar Islamic Insurance accounted for 8.15 percent.
Yesterday, the volume of shares traded increased to 6 million from 10.5 million on Wednesday and the value of shares also decreased to QR249m from QR258m on Wednesday. Of the 44 companies listed on QSE, shares of 37 saw trading yesterday. From these 19 gained and 13 companies closed lower and remained five unchanged. Indices of six sectors ended in green and one ended in red.
QSE Total Return Index increased 0.34 percent to 15,815.27 points. QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index gained 0.70 percent to 3,615.25 points and QSE All Share Index increased to 0.26 percent to 2,699.55 points.
