Companies add thrills to national festivities

DOHA: Many companies in Qatar organised their National Day celebrations yesterday.
The dynamic aviation sector held an event in a traditional tent near Doha International Airport. Qatar Airways, DIA, Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, Qatar Aeronautical College, and Gulf Helicopters joined hands to mark the occasion.
The Minister of Transport H E Jassim Seif Ahmed Al Sulaiti, the Chairman of Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, H E Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Nuaimi, and Qatar Airways Group CEO, Akbar Al Baker, among others, took part.
The event featured as Ardha show, falconry, face painting for children, making of fishing baskets, and camels and horse shows. 
QDVC, a Qatari construction company, erected for the first time in Doha four Qatari flags of 70sqm each on the tower cranes on Sheraton Park Project site. 
Commercial Bank, Qatar’s first private bank, distributed gifts at Dhreima Qatar Orphan Foundation, Shafallah Centre for children with special needs and six Independent schools.
Gifts were also distributed at the Home for the Elderly, and volunteers distributed the bank’s National Day badges and scarves to children and customers at the bank’s branches in Doha and at Katara Cultural Village. 
Qatalum held entertaining activities at its headquarters in Mesaieed Industrial City. The premises was decorated with national flags, patriotic songs were played, and speeches were delivered. The management cut a cake during a special luncheon attended by VIPs and guests alongside employees. 
Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company (Muntajat) celebrated its first Qatar National Day at its headquarters. Employees inscribed their wishes for Qatar on a board that will be kept as memorabilia.
RasGas marked the day with its employees in Doha, Ras Laffan, offshore and at its offices in South Korea and Japan, under the theme ‘Qatar is our source of pride... our pride is in our hearts’.
A giant billboard celebrating the pride of Qatar was displayed on the RasGas headquarters in Doha. 
College of the North Atlantic – Qatar (CNA-Q) held events, including performances by students of Ahmad bin Mohammed Al Thani School and the Pearl band. Officials led students, staff and guests on a National Day walk through the campus before enjoying the music, dancing, henna and camel rides.
Vodafone Qatar is welcoming writing enthusiasts at its booth at Darb El Saai, where a team will provide professional novelists and young writers with the information they need to join its literary competition ‘With your pen express your love for Qatar’.
The company also launched a promo through which Postpaid customers can enjoy unlimited local calling to any number in Qatar today and tomorrow. 
Mowasalat has fixed posters with creative designs of the loyalty and gratitude flag on taxis and buses. It has also wrapped its headquarters and Central Bus Station with the same design. The company will distribute gift packages.
It will support the public with transportation services to facilitate “park & ride” to the event venue; Karwa buses will serve as shuttle buses for the public to ride free from allotted parking space.
New Karwa school buses will play a video provided by Childhood Cultural Centre. The company distributed National Day shirts and gifts to all Karwa drivers.
