International Businesswomen Forum ends

DOHA: The fifth annual Qatar International Businesswomen Forum concluded yesterday.
Experts discussed the issue of women empowerment and their increasing role in the economic, political and cultural development of the country.
They highlighted Qatar’s ambitious journey of human development and sustainable economic diversification built on human capital. One of the sessions which addressed ‘Businesswomen and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)’ was moderated by Dr Aisha Al Mannai.
It highlighted two topics: The growing importance of CSR in business strategy and mission statements, and comparing Arab women business leaders in CSR initiative with developed economics. Another session was on social responsibility strategies to reduce poverty while social innovation in principle and practice was discussed in the fifth session. The forum has gained the status of a major annual event in Qatar and the region.
