Kinshasa--Democratic Republic of Congo police opened fire Monday on student demonstrators opposed to President Joseph Kabila in the capital Kinshasa, wounding at least one person, an AFP correspondent reported.
Several witnesses said they had seen a second person hit by a bullet. Earlier, the crowd of several thousand mostly young people threw stones at police, who responded with tear gas.
