Doha: Qatar KMCC Kozhikode District Committee, an expatriate Indian organisation, launched sports festival in solidarity with Qatar National Sport Day at Al Arabi Club.
More than 100 athletes selected from various constituency committees through preliminary selection trials contested in 100, 200, 400 & 800 metre sprint, long jump, high jump, shot put, discus throw and walking. Qatar Athletic Federation, Al Arabi Club and Al Ahli club supported the event.
The sports festival will conclude with a march past and tug of war competition at Al Ahli Stadium on March 8, 2013 Friday in the presence of Kerala Education Minister Abdul Rab and Qatar Athletic Federation representatives.
