New York--Wal-Mart Stores Thursday unveiled a program to boost wages and educational opportunities for US workers as it reported higher fourth-quarter earnings.
The biggest retailer globally, Wal-Mart said the wage and education initiatives would affect 500,000 US full- and part-time staff. Salaries will be raised this year, with another hike coming in 2016.
