DOHA: The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) will today organise a workshop on the national strategy for fighting diabetes, at Four Seasons Hotel.
Representatives from the SCH, Hamad Medical Corporation, Primary Healthcare Corporation, National Health Insurance Scheme (Seha), Sidra Medical and Research Center, Qatar Diabetes Association, Qatar University, Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, the Supreme Education Council and the Ministry of Interior will attend.
Dr Sheikha Al Anoud Al Thani, Director, Health Promotion and Non-Communicable Diseases, SCH, and Chairman of the national committee for combating diabetes, said the strategy aims to reduce the prevalence of diabetes by raising awareness.
Studies have been conducted under the project on how to reduce the burden of the disease on the patient and society.
The workshop is the first step towards prioritising the focus areas of the strategy and setting a work plan to deal with cases. It will also highlight the importance of modern technology in treatment and diagnosis of diabetes.
