Doha: The winners of the "Zeeenah" initiative, which was launched by the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) to highlight Qatar's celebratory activities during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, have been announced.
The initiative was established by the Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar and the Public Works Authority "Ashghal" in cooperation with the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, the Ministry of Municipality, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Ministry of Culture, Qatar Museums, and the Central Municipal Council.
Zeenah, co-sponsored by Ooredoo and the Seashore Group, recognizes individuals, businesses, schools, and government entities that have worked to beautify and decorate the facades of workplaces, schools, universities, and real estate, in addition to squares, roads, and other public services ahead of and during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. People and organizations in Qatar are familiar with the concept of themed beautification and decoration as it is done across the country during Ramadan, Qatar National Day, and Qatar National Sports Day.
For the kindergartens category, Hetteen Model Kindergarten for Boys emerged first, while Al Safeer International Kindergarten and Salam Kindergarten for Girls are second and third, respectively.
In the primary school category, the first place went to Ali Bin Abdulla Model School for Boys, Saad Bin Abi Waqas Model School for Boys came in second, and Abdulla Bin Alzubair Model School for Boys emerged third.
Barzan Preparatory School for Girls got the first prize in the preparatory schools category, while Amna Bint Wahab Preparatory School for Girls and Ruqyya Preparatory School for Girls are second and third, respectively.
For secondary schools, Ramla Bint Abi Sufyan Secondary School for Girls won the first prize, Qatar Banking Studies Secondary School came in second, and Abdul Rahman Bin Auf Secondary School took third.
In the coeducational schools category, GEMS American Academy emerged first, Arab International Academy was second, and Nord Anglia International School was the third-place winner.
The winners in the kindergartens and schools categories receive QR 40,000 for the first prize, QR 30,000 for the second prize winner, and QR 20,000 for the third place winner.

In the university category, Lusail University took first place with QR 60,000, followed by the University of Doha in Science and Technology with QR 50,000, and Qatar University's College of Engineering with QR 40,000.
Meanwhile, in the municipalities category, Al Rayyan Municipality won, while Doha Municipality and Al Daayan Municipality are second and third, respectively.
For government and private entities, Tameer Real Estate won the first prize for low-rise buildings, while Frames Beauty Center and Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation "Kahramaa"—Al-Hilal Building are second and third, respectively.
General Takaful Company won the medium-rise building category, while Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation's "Kahramaa - Abu Hamour Building" and Al Darwish United Company finished second and third, respectively.
For high-rise buildings, Qatar Insurance Group came first, followed by Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation "Kahramaa" headquarters and Qatar Media Corporation.
In the section for banks, Commercial Bank was the winner, while Mashreq Bank and Ahli Bank were second and third.
For malls, Hayat Plaza won, while Pari Gallery and Royal Plaza emerged second and third, respectively.
In the embassies sub-category, the Embassy of Afghanistan and the Embassy of Ecuador were the winners.
The urban area development category was won by the United Development Company.
Eng. Mohammad Arqoub Al Khaldi, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar and the Initiative’s Organizing Committee, said, "For the committee to have an effective role in achieving the dream of Qatar hosting an exceptional edition of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, we have developed a plan in collaboration with our partners to make various regions in the state come alive with the event’s spirit." Today, we reap the benefits of the initiative, as the outcome is a true legacy for future generations to be proud of. The participants of the initiative took on the role of ambassadors to spread the rich culture of Qatar from the comfort of their homes and workplaces. "The initiative has contributed to Qatar being fully prepared, both socially and culturally, to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, especially with Qatar hosting fans from all over the world."
From his side, Mr. Khaled Al Suwaidi, Stakeholder Relations Director in the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy and Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the initiative, said: "The Zeeenah initiative was able to create more enthusiasm and excitement for the most prominent football event in the region. It has contributed to making many plazas, roads, and buildings adorned with football themed decorations in a way that highlights the creative side of each participant. Therefore, we are all proud of the success achieved by the initiative, as it reflects the community's passion for sports.
