26 Emergency Section staff training in sign language

Doha: The Operation Department at National Command Centre (NCC) organised training in sign language for employees of the department working in 999 emergency section. 
The course was conducted in cooperation with Qatar Socio Cultural Centre for the Deaf. 
The head of the section, Maj. Khled Saleh Mohammed Al Ansari, said the course aimed to raise employees’ competence and provide them with knowledge and expertise in sign language so they can deal with complaints received at 999 emergency for the deaf. Twenty-six trainees are attending the two-week course which includes theoretical and practical classes. 
Al Ansari stressed that the department is working to provide the best services in case of emergencies for all categories, including those with hearing disabilities. He said the section is working constantly on training its staff for best delivery of services for all segments of society. He praised cooperation between the department and the centre in serving the better interests of society.
