Doha: The Sub-Committee on Accreditation (SCA) of the International Coordinating Committee of National Institutions for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights (ICC), Geneva, has re-elected Dr Ali bin Smaikh Marri, Chairman of Qatar National Human Rights Committee (QNHRC) President of the committee for the third time.
Dr Al Marri said: “The re-election renews confidence in QNHRC and confirmation of its credibility and independence and is an indicator of the great support being provided by the state to the committee in all matters relating to human rights at local, regional and international levels.”
QNHRC also chairs the Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions. QNA
