The University of Calgary in Qatar handed out two prizes as part of its Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Nurses Day celebration recently. Bobby Jose was the winner of an iPad Air and Youma Hassouna won an iPad Mini.  They were among those who had entered the contest and visited UCQ’s booth at City Center Mall. The contest entrants were required to answer a series of questions on nursing-related subjects found on UCQ’s website.
GCC Nurses Day was established by the GCC executive council several years ago in recognition of the major role nursing plays in medical services and healthcare.
“The nursing pioneers here overcame a number of challenges to bring dignity and high regard to nurses. GCC leaders, realising the significance of nurses, established schools and institutes to properly train nurses to give care to the sick and infirm.  We are following up with the critical thinking and evidence-based practice nursing style that we are teaching our students,” stated Dean & CEO Kim Critchley. The Peninsula
