Belgian trade delegation to visit Doha

DOHA: A high-level Belgian trade delegation, presided over by Princess Astrid, representative of the King, will visit Doha next week to attract and facilitate major investments into both countries. Qatar and Belgium are important trading partners as volume of trade between both countries reached around 1.2 bn euros in 2014.
Composed of 223 companies, 22 federations, two universities and 20 public organisations, the 400-people and 267 organisation-strong economic mission will engage in two days of productive exchanges of vital information and discussions with their Qatari counterparts.
The mission will kick off with the Qatari-Belgian Economic Forum 2015, which will be held under the patronage of H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani, Minister of Economy and Commerce.
At the two-day event scheduled for 22-23 March 2015, several B2B (business to business) meetings and networking opportunities will to be conducted. Sectorial events and seminars on sports infrastructure, future infrastructure projects, medical technology, energy and technology cooperation between Qatar and Belgium, clean technology will also be organised. Around 10 to 15 agreements are expected to be signed during the visit in various sectors including medical, clean tech, luxury goods and education sector.
Additionally, Princess Astrid, along with the Belgian government officials, will have separate meetings with high-level Qatari officials.
The Peninsula
