DOHA: A criminal court has sentenced two Bangladeshis to 20 years in jail and fined QR200,000 each for trading,  using and possessing a large stock of cannabis.
The court also ordered their deportation after they have served their sentences.
About 3.5kg of cannabis was found at the accommodation of the convicts.
In a sting operation, police gave money to a source to buy the drug from one the convicts.
As soon as the source informed officers that the deal was done, they swooped on the man, who later  led police to his accomplice.
Police recovered money from the second convict who had sold a part of cannabis.
The duo were taken to their accommodation and during search, eight packets filled with 3.511kg of cannabis were recovered.
A forensic report confirmed that the confiscated material was cannabis banned internationally, reports Al Raya.
And a medical report confirmed that the blood sample taken from the first convict for test had traces of hashish.
