Doha: The Police College in Qatar will be officially inaugurated today by Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, also Chairman of the Supreme Council of the college.
The ceremony will be attended by ministers, delegations from other countries, officers from Qatari Armed Force and security agencies, department directors and military and civil officers.
Brig. Dr Muhammad Abdullah Al Mohanna Al Marri, Director-General of the college, said a dream had been fulfilled we could make the academic entity real which would bring out qualified military cadres from Qataris and other GCC countries to serve and secure the nation.
He said the academic method was designed based on advanced systems as the college had finalised cooperation agreements with UK Policing, Manchester Metropolitan University and Greater Manchester Police. Academic activities of the college started with the admission of the first batch of students — 115 Qatari and 23 from other GCC and Arab countries — last year.
