DOHA: Blue Salon recently hosted Italian fragrance and lifestyle brand, Tiziana Terenzi’s, candle-making workshop for a host of media, fashion enthusiasts, as well as, society’s dignitaries in Qatar.
During the candle-making workshop, Paolo Terenzi, the director and the main perfumer of the company, instructed guests on how to make the Tiziana Terenzi classic candle, The Mini. It is their smallest candle and comes in either white or black glass with their logo embossed in 24-carat gold.
Terenzi began the workshop by explaining the different types of wax that they use in creating their candles. “This is a special kind of wax we use, which is organic and non-toxic. It also burns so cleanly that when the candle is burned out, you can reuse the beautiful glass container,” he said as he cut up the large wax slabs and heated them in a kettle, reminding guests not to overheat the wax as that can destroy the composition of the wax.
He went on to add fragrances and even a “secret ingredient” to the hot wax which he said is responsible for the long-lasting fragrance of the candle. “This is one of our most popular candles and it comes in either white or black to suit your home decor. It will burn for seven hours and create a unique sensory experience that encompasses both scent and sound and helps enhance the mood.”
During the workshop, Terenzi also demonstrated how the Tiziana Terenzi porcelain air diffuser, a new version of potpourri, is created.
