Japan mission donates books to CCQ

DOHA: Japanese embassy in Qatar, donated 80 Japan-related books to the Community College of Qatar (CCQ) yesterday.  

Kenjiro Monji, Ambassador of Japan to Qatar, donated 80 Japan-related books to Dr Ibrahim Al Naimi, Acting President of the Community College of Qatar, during a ceremony at the College’s female campus library.   

Ambassador Monji said, “As the Embassy of Japan has been enjoying good cooperative relations with Qatar in the area of education, I hope that the new relationship with the Community College of Qatar would be further promoted in the future.”

Ambassador Monji and Dr Al Naimi also discussed the future cooperation between the Embassy and the College. With yesterday’s contribution the Japanese embassy has donated 106 books to the Community College in Qatar.   

The book collection in Arabic, English and Japanese at the college library has become a resource for providing Qatari students with a wide range of information about Japan.

Donation of books to various Qatari institutions is conducted by the Japanese Embassy in close cooperation with the Japan Foundation, which is a public organisation established by the Japanese government in 1972 to promote international cultural exchanges and mutual understanding between Japan and the rest of the world.   The Peninsula
