London: Airport worker Chris Holmes made a bold decision to pursue his dreams — and he wrote all about it, in frosting, in a resignation letter on top of a cake (pictured).
Holmes’ brother-in-law posted a picture of the cake to his Twitter account.
Holmes had worked at the Border Force as an immigration officer for the past four years.
As brother-in-law Stuart Jackson wrote in his Twitter photo caption: “So, my brother-in-law has resigned from his 9-to-5 job in spectacular fashion. Jerry Maguire meets Masterchef.”
The now-former employer has taken the resignation graciously.
“Chris handed in the cake, along with a more formal letter, yesterday,” Bill Form, Border Force assistant director at Stansted, told the BBC. “He leaves with our very best wishes and we wish him well for the future.”
The picture of the cake resignation letter has gone viral since first being posted on Monday. For his part, Holmes says he has been “overwhelmed by the positive response” from the public.
