DOHA: The Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee, in collaboration with the Qatar Statistics Authority, will today  launch a survey among residents of Al Rayyan to know their opinion on developments planned in the area ahead of 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The survey will seek opinion on development of the area surrounding the proposed new stadium in Al Rayyan, which will play host to games at the World Cup.

The online survey is conducted through the QSA website (www.qsa.com.qa) and the questionnaire will be available for a period of three weeks and is specifically aimed at citizens and residents of the Al Rayyan municipality.

A large number of people from different age groups are expected to take part in the survey, since the proposed developments “will have a direct impact on the lives of future generations and leave a legacy of urban revitilisation in Al Rayyan area,” the Supreme Committee said yesterday.

Sheikh Hamad bin Jabor bin Jassim Al Thani, President of the QSA and Chairman of the Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee’s Legacy Committee has urged residents of the areas surrounding Al Rayyan to participate in the survey and get their opinion known to the authorities concerned. The survey is the second in a series conducted by the Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee and QSA as part of their ‘community participation’ programme.

The first survey was launched on February 12 targeting residents of Al Wakra and the surrounding areas. The results of this survey will be announced  “in due course”, said the statement.
