Doha, Qatar: The Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CGB), through its Institute of Public Administration, yesterday organised a thought-provoking discussion session titled “Leaders Ready for the Future in a Changing Work Environment” as part of the Cultural Salon at the ongoing 35th Doha International Book Fair.

The panel, held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, brought together prominent experts to explore the evolving demands on leadership amid rapid transformations in the public and private sectors.

Participants included CEO of Qatar Finance and Business Academy Dr. Khalifa Al Salahi Al-Yafei; Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Hareb Mohamed Said Al-Jabri; and Acting Director of the Knowledge Management and Capacity Building Department at the CGB, Fatima Al-Fakhri.

Discussions centred on key requirements for preparing future leaders, the role of foresight in institutional development, and leveraging challenges to drive innovation and enhance performance efficiency. Speakers emphasised the importance of adaptability, continuous learning, and strategic vision in navigating dynamic work environments shaped by technological advancements and global shifts.

The session aligns with Qatar’s broader efforts to build a resilient, forward-thinking government workforce capable of supporting the nation’s development goals under Qatar National Vision 2030.

The 35th edition of the Doha International Book Fair, Qatar’s guest-of-honour edition, continues to serve as a vibrant platform for intellectual dialogue, cultural exchange, and knowledge sharing. Running until May 23 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, the fair features hundreds of publishers, interactive activities, and specialised seminars across various fields.

CGB’s participation underscores the integration of human capital development within Qatar’s cultural and educational landscape. Such initiatives not only promote professional growth but also encourage public engagement with topics critical to national progress.

Visitors to the fair are encouraged to attend remaining sessions at the Cultural Salon to benefit from expert insights on governance, innovation, and sustainable development.

The panel reflects the growing emphasis on proactive leadership training as Qatar continues to position itself as a regional hub for knowledge and excellence.
