Indian Cultural Centre officials during an Independence Day event.
Doha: The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), in coordination with the Embassy of India, Qatar organised various events to mark India’s 75th Independence Day from August 1 to 16.
Among the events were music and cultural performances, live orchestra, art shows, musical night, art-poster and Rangoli competition, music and dance festival, National Handloom Day, India @75 Freedom Quiz, MirchiOne live jam session karaoke, and Indian Independence essay and poem writing competition. According to P N Babu Rajan, ICC President, in culmination, a Grand Finale Celebration will be held today at Al Arabi Sports Club Indoor Stadium from 3pm to 11pm. This fiesta will showcase a variety of cultural programmes, which will exclusively be dedicated to portraying the richness and diversity of the Indian cultural heritage.
Other highlights of the events are Live Orchestra, Qawwali by a renowned team from India - Danish Hussain Badayuni Qawwali Group and Magic Show.
