DOHA: The Cultural Village (Katara) together with Mexican embassy in Qatar will host a concert tomorrow to mark the National Day of United Mexican States.
“Marimba group” from the Science and Art University of the State of Chiapas Mexico and the “Latin-American Folklore Ballet” in Qatar will perform at the event.
Marimba group the most exciting marimba ensemble of Mexico is representative of the School of Music at the University of Science and Arts of Chiapas, Marimba is a musical instrument in the percussion family. It consists of a set of wooden bars with resonators.
Dr Khalid Al Sulaiti, the General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation said:
“Katara is hosting this group as a part of Katara’s role in spreading and promoting the global culture, and also to support the cultural relations between the countries of the globe.”
It is worthy to mention that Katara and Mexican Embassy have very good relations.
“We are welcoming any cooperating to host events like that to establish strong base for globe cultures,” he added.
The concert will be held tomorrow at the Drama Theater — Katara.
Tickets are sold in Landmark and Villaggio mall.
