Licence compulsory for amateur hunters and fishermen

Doha: The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani chaired the weekly Cabinet session at the Emiri Diwan yesterday.

The Deputy Premier and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud said the Cabinet approved a draft decision of the Minister of Environment concerning rules for practising hunting or fishing by amateur hunters or fishermen.

The amateur hunter or fisherman is allowed to practise hunting or fishing only after obtaining a licence from the concerned department.

The Cabinet endorsed a recommendation of the standing committee for the adoption of resources of treated water as a major source of cooling projects, and desalinated water as a temporary secondary source in case of the absence of treated water.

It approved a proposal by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to reconsider Qatar’s reservations in its document over joining the agreement on privileges and immunities enjoyed by specialised agencies.

The session also approved a move to increase Qatar’s contribution to the capital of the Arab Investment and Export Credit Guarantee Corporation. It reviewed draft amendments to the law No. 2 of 2007 on the housing system and its executive decisions. QNA
