4 dead, 44 wounded in bus accident south central China

CHANGSHA: Four people died and 44 others were wounded in a bus accident in Yongzhou City in central China's Hunan Province, Local authorities said Friday.
 
China's news agency (Xinhua) reported authorities as saying the bus, loaded with 46 students along with one teacher and the driver, fell off a 30-meter-high slope in Yongzhou City on Thursday afternoon.
 
Two students died at the scene and another two died after being sent to hospital.
 
Eight were seriously or critically injured while the rest suffered slight injuries.
 
A press release from the municipal government blamed poor driving for the accident, saying further investigation is still underway.
 
Rescue teams stopped working by night time and a crane was sent to drive away the bus, witnesses told Xinhua. (QNA)
