Around 92 percent firms registered last month were private limited entities, while six per cent were single-member firms. And 1pc of these were registered as foreign companies and associations. The services sector took the lead in new registrations with 41 companies, followed by trading with 38, IT with 31, tourism with 25, construction and food and beverages with 18 each, communications and engineering with 12 each and broadcasting and corporate agricultural farming with 11 companies each.
Channels ‘eyed  election ads’
ISLAMABAD: TV news channels devoted “very little” prime time space to voter education during the campaign for the May general election and appeared to exploit every chance to make money from political ads in the run-up to the election day, said the European Union Election Observation Mission Pakistan 2013. “Time for paid-for content was high, far exceeding the time for election-related programmes and news on two of the TV channels monitored,” the mission said in a  report. The mission monitored a sample of political content on TV, radio and print media from April 8 to May 9, Inta Lase, a media expert from Latvia who was part of the mission, told a seminar recently.
