Lekhwiya edge out Al Kharaitiyat

DOHA: Defending champions Lekhwiya earned a 1-0 victory over Al Kharaitiyat to continue close pursuit with leaders Al Sadd at the Qatar Stars League game, yesterday. 
At Al Khor Stadium, the Michael Laudrup’s team had to wait for 90 minutes to score the decisive goal and secure the winning points. 
The title-defenders are now just a point behind Al Sadd, who are on top of the table with 19 points from seven matches. Tahee Nam netted the all-important goal with a field effort. 
Meanwhile, El Jaish came from behind to edge out Qatar SC 2-1 at the Qatar Sports Stadium, thanks to a brace by Mohammed Muntari. 
The winners were trailing until 58 minute as Muntari scored the equaliser. 
Cho Youngcheol gave Qatar SC a lead in the 19th minute. Three minutes after scoring his first goal, Muntari completed his brace and sealed the 2-1 win.  
Elsewhere, the match between Al Sailiya and Al Shamal ended in a 2-2 draw.THE PENINSULA
